These are the terms for using bytheowl.com, the website of By The Owl, a video production house based in Delhi NCR, India. By The Owl is a MaybeCreations entity. By using the site you agree to these terms. They're short, because the site is simple: it shows our work and tells you how to reach us.
Using the site
You can browse the site, watch the films, and use the contact page to write to us. You can't use the site in a way that breaks the law, interferes with how it works, or tries to get at parts of it that aren't meant for the public. There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for.
The films, pictures and words
Everything on the site is either ours or our clients'. That includes the films and loops, the stills and photographs, the reels in the Instagram panel, the logos and marks, and the words on each page.
- The films and pictures of client work belong to the clients who commissioned them, or are shown with their permission. The client names and logos belong to those clients.
- Our own films, pictures, the owl, the By The Owl name and the writing belong to By The Owl.
You can watch all of it here and share a link to any page. You can't download, copy, re-upload, edit, or use any film, picture or text from the site in your own work, on your own channels, or in any AI training set, without our written permission. If you want to use something, email ash@bytheowl.com and ask. Where a film also lives on our YouTube channel, YouTube's terms apply to it there.
Enquiries are not contracts
Writing to us through the site, by email, by WhatsApp or by phone is an enquiry. It doesn't commit either of us to anything. Every project runs on its own written agreement, which sets the brief, the deliverables, the schedule, the price and who owns what. Nothing on the site is a quote, an offer, or a promise to take on a job, and no prices are published here.
Third-party links
The site links out to YouTube (for full-length films), Instagram (our @bytheowlco profile) and WhatsApp (to message us). Those services belong to Google and Meta, run under their own terms and privacy policies, and we don't control them. Opening a link to them is your choice.
No warranty
We keep the site accurate and working, but it's provided as it is. We don't promise it'll be available at all times, without errors, or that every film will play on every device and connection. To the extent the law allows, By The Owl isn't liable for any loss that comes from using the site, relying on what it says, or being unable to reach it. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that can't be limited by law.
Privacy
How the site treats your data, and what happens when you contact us, is on the Privacy policy page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute about them goes to the courts of Delhi. If you're in the UK, this doesn't take away any protection your local consumer law gives you.
Changes
We may change these terms when the site changes. The date at the top moves when we do, and the version on bytheowl.com is the current one.
